Emily Pierce

Sr. Vice President

Emily has been on the front lines of the bitter legal and policy disputes that are defining this era of disruption.

As a senior public affairs adviser for the Justice Department on policy and law enforcement matters, Emily counseled Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch as well as senior department leaders on media strategy and engagement. From that perch, she directed a broad range of Justice’s strategic communications, including for the Apple iPhone litigation, a new cell-site simulator policy, criminal justice reform efforts, the rollout of the department’s new individual accountability policy, the FIFA indictments, and the proposed Comcast-Time Warner merger, among other issues.

Before joining the department, Emily spent nearly two decades as a political journalist in Washington. As a reporter and editor at Roll Call and Congressional Quarterly for 17 years, Emily covered nearly every major political and policy fight – from cap and trade and the debt limit crisis to Obamacare and the 2008 financial industry bailout.
